"Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, came under heinous terrorist attack on November 26, 2008." - From Evidence 1 of the Indian dossier on Mumbai attacks.
Media - our eyes and ears jump in on it to let the nation know about the attacks. Quickly its interests change from duty bound to frenzy to rescue hampering to TRP upping. Every politician condemned the attacks. The so called prominent persons from our film fraternity and page-3 club have been put at the desk infront of the cameras to express thier take on these attacks. - Do we look like we give shit about what they think!
Our honorable ministers issued statements after statements with seriously decieving looks on thier faces accusing Pakistan. Piles and piles of evidence gathered everything pointing to ISI and Pak army and the hundreds of terror school faculty all over the rogue land. Day after day the same story is aired over and over again, of course the honorable minister playing OliverTwist infront of the mighty US and the world to put pressure on Pakistan to deliver on our so called iron-clad case.
Almost four months passed by. What happened to the "case" of the commerical capital of India?
"Federal Investigation Agency has informed the government they may have to stop their probe into the Mumbai attacks due to lack of cooperation by India and other countries." - TOI, March 7, 2009.
Well, haven't they all gotten busy...!!
Pakistan's internal turmoil shit hit the media,
Srilankan cricket team was attacked which by the way, I would like to remind everyone, was almost like somebody staged it letting the terror cowboys walk more freely than Mr. Zardari in his own back yard. And of course there is the curious case of the expert ways of Pakistani forensic experts in handling the evidence left behind by the terrorists(allegedly),
then comes the biggy, the Indian elections saga that gets all those damn politicians busy planning to proctect thier pasted butts or to kick those that are pasted to replace em with thier own on the chiars of power - after all its the question of thier investments and what kind of a politician with a sane mind gives a shit about the people and the country these days anyway!
and
Jai Ho!! the Oscar - the man with folded hands and a golden ass that every freaggin flimsy filmy ass goes after to try its tongue on.
Last but definetly by far not the least, I-freaggin-PL and the NewZealand tour. Dhoni's boys won this, lost that, took a pleasure ride off some tower. The Blue men in Red. What the #@*&!
Where did Mumbai go? Its still there fighting and all those families coping. Remembering. Grieving. Accepting that nothing will ever be done.
Where did the media go? Well.. not to worry at all, it surely, I bet my butt on it, will come back when another city is attacked, when another innocent is shot, or some cat is stuck on a tree or when Big B falls sick or Small B sneezes or Bahu B slips on the red carpet somewhere outside the country.
Colour TV for every vote, a Kilo of rice for a rupee, free power for half the nation and a dozen new states for hungry (for power...mind you!) politicians. Come ON... are these guys for real!!
Where are the leaders who acted upon to deliver justice, those who would not rest until its done!
How incredibly sensible it would be if everyone of us followed and acted on those adds on TV asking us to choose wisely and stop this nuisance and utter non-sense.
Its time we did!
Something!
Anything!

just perfect. Media has no sense of responsibility. Neither do politicians. Worst thing is that even we dont.
What are you going to do about it?
Void your vote? Or rant on blogs?
Half of our population which is under poverty line doesn’t have the luxury to see the mentioned ad and choose wisely. Because for them the immediate concern is not corruption/politics and honestly speaking not even terror attacks. Getting 2 square meals per day is their primary concern and even that they fail to manage. Getting killed in terror attacks might be easier than living every day of life in utter poverty. Can they be blamed if they vote for anyone who promises rice for 1 kg? Who cares if economy is going to dogs in fulfilling such election promises? Are they educated enough to care? Are they educated enough to know they have special funds allocated for their upliftment which sadly never reaches them?!! Do they even know? They just go on living the sad and poor life generations after generations. They get converted to Christianity or Islamism or whoever promises them money. They flock behind corrupt politicians who promise them heaven. It is sad but the poor and the uneducated is a majority in India. They will remain so because it is convenient for all. For politicians, they are easily deceivable targets. For educated middle class, they make cheap labour.!!!
What do us, the educated, five or six figure salary-drawing class do? We keep economy up by spending like there is no tomorrow. We cause prices to go sky-rocketed because we are too shy to bargain and give only the real price! When we are bored of routine activities, we blog about corruption and the need to choose wisely!!! We log off from blog with a satisfied smile and tell ourselves – yes I have done something for the society today…
Very well said. "Anonymous". Prejudiced. Aren't we!
Please read the blog again. Probably this time you may get my intentions.
I must say though... you defied the very point you made.
"We log off from blog with a satisfied smile and tell ourselves – yes I have done something for the society today…"
I loved that line.
Are you by any chance contesting in the coming elections? If you are then probably I would void my vote yet again and rant more on my blog.
But thanks for the comment. Well somebody reads.
Somebody still cant let go huh!
Words without actions are useless. writing on blogs has never brought about any changes to society. that was my point. but never mind you are too personal to take anything positive at all from criticism.
there is an option to disable anonymous comments but you dont have to do it now. good luck and dont bother to reply but delete my comments. thanks for the kind words. i am not going to read your blogs hereafter.
"Words without actions" - Well madam your point? Positive from the criticism?
Please let me know where exactly was any criticism in your comment.
Firstly, You assumed I was not doing anything about what I mentioned in my blog.
Secondly, you do not obviously understand my views.
Thirdly, you are too prejudiced to even see my point in its original sense.
You talk about poor people's emotions and instincts regarding that 1 rupee a kilo rice thing. Do you even know where the money comes from for such a thing? It costs around 2500 crores to implement that. And you are only looking at the short term. But this amount will only be aiding the rise of prices even more and there will be more misery for "the poor" people.
And finally if you can read "at all" with an intention to grasp the point then you can realize that I was not blaming the poor for voting for those who put out those schemes. I was disgusted about the politicians who put such schemes out which surely turn out to be scams and fill their pockets for a term and then someone else comes to power in the next elections. What happened to the common man?!! Well a few more taxes on everything from the very same rice to coffin wood.

Probably you would understand a decent party's plan for the development of the state. And in case you have not heard of this party, then this is the most unpopular party which hardly wins any seats for the lack of the so called "party funds".
And Kind words? Were you talking about yours or mine? I am a lil confused.
I never asked you get lost. It was your doing.
that is so true.. bloody dogs they all are.. these guys just don't care.. it's not for the country or for the people or anything like that.. one's doing it just to keep up the family name, the other for religion(technically that's what it is), one looking at his sinking career in films.. my foot they want to bring about change..
And Anonymous, it's quite easy and convenient to anonymously come up and tell ppl they're not doing anything.. blogs are meant to express views, and when more ppl read it, some brains in which the bulb hadn't litten itself up yet would have a fair chance of enlightenment.. I'm in for ranting on blogs.. it helps the ones on either side of the fence you see? the reader and the writer?..
